Job Description:

Role will be responsible for working closely with project management, business stakeholders, and both technical and non-technical users to develop Valspar's next generation enterprise data warehouse and reporting in MicroStrategy.  The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of MicroStrategy, and a strong analyst background, particularly in the areas of technical requirements gathering and testing. 

Responsibilities:

·       Partner with technical staff to understand source system functionality and limitations

·       Work with business leadership to gather and document functional requirements in common terms

·       Capture and communicate design requirements through prototyping and functional BI tool demonstration.

·       Lead presentation layer Unit and Integration Testing activities and assist in User Acceptance Testing as needed

·       Sample and compare data within new and existing subject areas

·       Monitor and refine dashboards and reports, work with business members to ensure solutions are adopted and fully leveraged

·       Analyze flat file imports for standardization and data integrity

·       Develop an understanding of the current end-to-end BI platform architecture to help support deployed solutions

·       Develop training and documentation for end-users as needed

·       Work with database administrators to improve overall performance and eliminate report/query redundancy

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology or similar

·       5+ years' experience with data analysis, query design, reporting/visualization using BI tools, including MicroStrategy.

·       Knowledge and experience working with data warehousing concepts, terminology and architecture

·       Experience in report modeling and dashboard design

·       Expert knowledge of SQL and data extraction methodologies

·       Experience with OBIEE and EBS desired, but not required

·       Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·       Ability to work independently or in a team

·       Ability to adapt to fast paced and rapidly changing environment

·       Strong verbal and written communication skills

·       Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office tools

Note: We are working with Tier-1 vendor requirement.
