PURPOSE & SCOPE: 

The Global Contracts & Outsourcing Lead (GCOL) Contract Specialist is responsible for execution of all contracting activities as assigned for all contract types that represent high volume, low risk to the organization, but for which a focused effort will produce high quality and rapid throughput.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Complete all contracting activities as assigned for all contract types that represent high volume, low risk to the organization, but for which a focused effort will produce high quality and rapid throughput. These include CDAs, consulting agreements, advisory board agreements, simple Service Agreements (SAs), as well as some vendor WOs and COs (those that don't require other GCOL approval). The Contract Specialist is also responsible for the signature routing process between vendors and various client business units. 
2. Using departmental legal playbooks, respond to red line input on CDAs from clinical sites, HCPs, and other organizations as needed. 
3. Using departmental routing tools, escalate to Legal reviewers any contracts that require additional input beyond what the playbooks provide. 

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

• Bachelor's Degree 
• Minimum 3 years' experience executing pharmaceutical or related industry contracts (investigator and/or vendor) 
• Ability to work in a matrix environment 
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
• Strong attention to detail and organization 
• Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills 
• Experience with word processing and spreadsheet software 
• Good decision and problem solving ability 
• Solid soft skills: customer service, sales, presentations 
• Working knowledge of various contract types and complexity levels 
• Good time management, planning and scheduling skills 
• Team player, collaborative, relationship-oriented 
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal 

PREFERRED SKILLS: 

• Advanced degree in business or law 
• Five or more years' legal or business experience
