MUST HAVE EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Must be heavy on 12c install, upgrade from 11g to 12c, in clustered environment
3 environments N1, N2 and production
Customer facing app on customer DWH.. security is being handled by someone else

Complex OBIEE 12c upgrade w/clustering.  Install Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition ("OBIEE 12c") 12c for multiple environments, perform upgrades and workshops.

Tasks/scope:

        §  Analysis and Planning Phase

§  Conduct up to two (2) planning workshop to assist the Paychex Project team to create a project plan

§  Conduct up to three (2) current environment assessment workshop

§  N1 Environment (1/2)

§  Install Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition ("OBIEE 12c") 12c in your new N1 environment

§  Migrate and validate OBIEE 11.1.1.7.140715  Repository files, Web Catalog and Security Policies to OBIEE 12c in your N1 Environment          

§  Migrate Configurations from  your current OBIEE 11g N1 to your new OBIEE 12c N1 environment

§  Migrate Oracle BI WebLogic  and Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control Security Configuration

§  Migrate the Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control  Business Intelligence Configurations

 

§  Migrate Oracle BI Server and Oracle BI Presentation Server Configuratio
§  N1 Environment (2/2)

§  Configure BI Repository customization to UI (Style Sheets / Logos / Messages / Web Templates)

The ideal candidate is a deep technologist with proven track record detecting, demonstrating, and mitigating cyber threats in complex multi-platform environments.

As a Site Reliability Engineer on our team, you will be primarily responsible for:

• Developing processes and procedures to ensure service availability and repair any service-impacting issues with the objective being to create consistency in our services and proactively address issues before they affect performance or availability.

• Responsible for fire prevention through visibility into system, automation, and resiliency initiatives
• Demonstrating strong focus on tactical operations, as well as large-scale production.

• Influencing feature designs, architecture, standards & processes to ensure Security.
• Triaging problems and suggesting solutions at the code and infrastructure level, be able to understand current problem areas and remove manual execution of repetitive tasks through automation using scripting or other programming languages.
• Identifying gaps in current technology or processes and recommending improvements.
• Influencing team culture to be automation focused.
• Collaborating at depth with peers in across the organization.
• Develop a deep understanding of the various services and applications that come together to deliver EMS  products
• Design new tools and smart alerts that help discover failures/issues in a timely fashion and work with engineers to identify root cause and mitigating factors

 Required Experience and Qualifications:

• BS/BA Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience (3-5 years in an Enterprise scale internet service engineering or support role)
• Strong understanding of monitoring implementations and administration
• Strong communication skills (Written and Oral)
• Working knowledge of industry standard tools and systems related to environment automation and monitoring
• Demonstrated expertise in web services, virtualization, cloud concepts, REST, JSON, YAML, XML, SQL, PHP, LDAP, & object oriented methodologies.
• Coding experience in languages such as C# / Java / Python / Perl
• Experience with micro services
• Deep hands-on technical expertise in large scale systems engineering and complex distributed systems architectures.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, commitments & projects.
• Demonstrated passion for customer experience & usability, including successful delivery of customer self-service tools & automated management/optimization of services.

• Strong knowledge of core protocols and tech such as: TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, load balancers, distributed file systems, key-value and relational databases
• Extensive experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Salt, or Ansible
• Experience with specific software such as Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, CouchBase, Graphite, RUM, and similar technologies is desirable, but the ability to quickly learn new technology is most important
• Capable of technical deep-dives into code, networking, systems, and storage with very bright, experienced engineers
• Expertise in problem solving and analyzing global scale distributed systems
• Logging and Monitoring experience designing, deploying and running systems like Splunk, ELK, New Relic or other APM solutions
• Work with product delivery teams to identify architectural issues and ensure timely and smooth delivery of features into operations

You will design and build large distributed systems that operate at cloud-scale.

Responsibilities

· Implement and deploy APIs and micro-services for backend components that provide both internal and vehicle-facing services.

· Develop APIs for hybrid distributed systems using container and cloud technology with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, and performance.

· Work with geographically dispersed teams providing technical leadership.

· Provide expert guidance about build and deployment tooling to multiple engineering teams.

· Monitor and support your code components to rectify failures and performance bottlenecks.

· Work with our security teams to implement appropriate security measures.

 

Qualifications

· Hands-on DevOps engineer with a passion for RESTful API design and experience building services infrastructure at scale.

· Experience working with container and web-scale technologies including, but no limited to: micro-services, REST, Python, Go, Java, Node.JS, Bash, Ruby.

· Experience with virtual machine and container technologies like: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack VMware vSphere.

· Solid background in implementing APIs for web services and fault-tolerant software components. Experience with swagger and implementing web-service gateways.

· Ability to design non-traditional approaches to achieve technical goals. For example, comparing white-box hardware solutions with traditional branded systems.

· Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, data-driven, start-up environment.

· Bachelors degree required.

 

Preferred Qualifications
