Position – SQL DBA
Location: Bellevue, WA
Duration: 10 Months
Job Description:
The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of applications. This is a hands-on position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. He will be responsible for managing team of 2-3 SQL Server DBAs with highest level product knowledge and experience in managing communication with multiple internal/external staffs.
• Installing SQL server (DB, Integration Services, Report Services, Analysis Services, Data Tools, and On Premise & Cloud) and client software, creating, upgrading and patching databases in different environments. Experience in Upgrade and Migration of SQL Server to higher version (SQL Server 2008 R2 to SQL Server 2016)
• Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to production systems.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
• Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication.
• SQL Development - ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored process, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints)
• Troubleshoot various problems that arise in a day-to-day work and fix the issues and Assist Other DBAs in teams by providing technical solutions.
• Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating KBs, run books, topology)
• Point of contact for Critical Escalations / Production Outage / Major Upgrades.
Demonstrated Experience:
• Graduate in science/engineering with minimum 6 years of DBA experience in medium to large organization.
• Experience in retail domain product support is desired
• Good knowledge any ticketing systems like JIRA, Remedy or Quickbase.
• Willingness to work on rotational 24 X 7 environment
• Good communication skills both oral and written
• Experience in advanced level of application debug relating to application/Database servers
