 Job Description:        Contractor will be tasked with updating the agency's Nortel Business Communication Manger digital phone systems allowing them to direct dial 911 in accordance with Senate Bill 788.  The task will be accomplished following existing procedures and using management software accessed from computers at the Austin HQ building.  Manipulator on the local dialing plan on the phone system will be necessary.  Testing changes and coordination with TPWD facility staff, the local Public-Safety Answering Point (PSAP/911 call center) and the local telephone company will be necessary. 

 

Other Special Requirements:  Approximately 20% (of a 40-hour work week) may be necessary for travel within the State of Texas to update phone systems where remote access is not available.  State of Texas hotel and per diem rates will apply.

 

Requirements            Minimum Skills Requirement in years

Years     Skills/Experience

5            Experience supporting and maintaining Nortel Business Communication Manger phone systems including MICS, CICS

5            Experience using and manipulating 911 routing in an Avaya/Nortel digital phone environment.

5            Experience communicating with Local Exchange Carriers and PSAP/911 centers.

Strong   Skill in effective verbal and written communication

Strong   Works effectively with others to resolve telecommunications related systems issues.

Strong   Attention to details
