Position Title: Sr. Software Architect (Security)
Location: Herndon, VA
Duration: Long Term
Purpose/Objective of position: This individual will contribute to the Architecting the Exostar Identity and Access Management, Customer On-Boarding products related to Exostar Aerospace and Defense business area. This individual must possess strong technical skills coupled with the interpersonal and communication skills to provide guidance architectural components/services to be reengineered. This person must possess a strong background implementing enterprise Workflow management systems and middleware integration technologies.
Essential/Fundamental Duties & Responsibilities:
· Experienced with Business Process and Rules engines products.
· Experience with Java based workflows, middleware for enterprise integration technology.
· Develop architectural designs for solutions to business problems.
· Help provide GO/NO-GO decision, can the current platform be used/re-used for new product development, provide metrics around the frameworks maturity
· Work closely with product management and engineering teams by guiding the execution, monitor execution to ensure adherence to architectural standards, provide remediation measures, actively advice management on course correction.
· Design and develop Collaboration solutions in Java, employing standard design patterns and development practices.
· Mentor development teams on use of design patterns and evangelize software development practices and processes.
· Present architectures and designs to Exostar's customers and management team.
· Document architecture & design diagrams and decisions.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
Qualifications/Experience:
· Minimum 12 to 14 years work experience with 4 to 5 years as software lead/architect.
· Must have lead the design, development, and deployment of at least one significant eCommerce application or product
· Hands-on experience with BPM and SOA a plus.
· Strong OO knowledge and design skills
· Experience with Business Process and Rules engines such as jBPM, MullSoft ESB and DROOLS.
· Experience with Java based middleware for enterprise application integration such as Camel is essential for this job function.
· Knowledge and demonstrated experience designing multi-tier, highly available, multi-threaded, scalable architectures for large-scale web-based cloud services.
· Deep Java knowledge, certified developer or expert-level knowledge with Java and related technologies such as J2EE, EJB, JNDI, JMS, JDBC, JSP, Java Servlets.
· Hands-on experience with HTML5, Ajax and related frameworks (such as GWT) a plus.
· Expert proficiency with Java-based application servers and Apache Tomcat servlet container.
· Knowledge of and implementation experience with JCE are highly desirable.
· Demonstrated application of architectures and designs that employ design patterns
· Strong database background and experience with Oracle or MS SQL Server
o Knowledge of hardware architectures for large-scale web/eCommerce infrastructures including clustering, high-availability, fault tolerance, etc.
o Highly developed negotiation, facilitation and consensus-building skills.
o Highly developed oral and written communication skills as well as presentation skills.
Related Skills:
• Experience with UML modeling in an agile development environment is essential.
• Experience in business to business (B2B) environments and cloud base service deployment.
