Ea a fost organizata totodata de tineretul din P.N.L. P.N.t. ca o manifestare de simpatie fata de regele aflat in greva la Sinaia si de protest hotarat fata de politica guvernului Groza. Grupuri de provocatori comunisti s-au amestecat insa intre demonstranti. Apoi camioane ale Politiei si detasamente inarmate ale comunistilor au intrat in plin in multime provocand numeroase victime. Sub pretextul apararii Ministerului de Interne s-a tras cu mitraliera de la ferestrele acestei institutii. S-au operat peste 1 000 de arestari. Presa comunista s-a dezlantuit impotriva participantilor etichetandu-i fascisti asasini reactionari si a cerut dizolvarea partidelor opozitei si arestarea conducatorilor lor.
