The SOC Manager is a critical member of the Security Operations Center (SOC) and is a direct customer facing role. The role is to act as an interface between customer's strategic and process-based activities and the work of skilled team of technology-focused analysts, engineers and administrators
Manage and coordinate operational components of incident management, including detection, response and reporting
Maintain a knowledgebase comprising a technical reference library, security advisories and alerts, information on security trends and practices, and laws and regulations.
SOC Manager needs to coordinates the team's technical activities to implement and manage infrastructure security tools including SIEM and to provide regular status and service-level reports to management.
SOC Manager is responsible for managing highly technical staff as they work to accomplish company and personal development goals and must, therefore, have proven leadership skills. Documentation and presentation skills, analytical and critical thinking skills, and the ability to identify needs and take initiative are key requirements of the SOC Manager position
Manage a staff of information security professionals, hire and train new staff, conduct performance reviews, and provide leadership and coaching, including technical and personal development programs for team members. Conducts regular review meetings with customer senior management
Creation of operational reports, dashboards and metrics as part of governance reporting. Review the capacity/usage of the security devices and provide necessary suggestions. Ability to understand customer business requirements and provide security solution accordingly within SOW
Manage SOC operations including SLA management, Team management, Knowledge Management ownership and automation
SOC Manager needs to own and coordinate critical scheduled customer activities like DR Drills and ensure all critical issues are managed and closed within the agreed customer defined SLA
Tools Knowledge: Check Point Firewalls, Tufin, McAfee Nitro, Cyber Ark, Nexpose, Fore Scout, Palo Alto Firewalls, RSA, McAfee Web Gateway, McAfee Web Reporter, Proofpoint and Mcafee IDS/IPS
