POSITION TITLE:  Sr. Automation Engineer (Lead)

Location: Orlando, FL

Duration: Long term

 

Job experience

·         8+ years' experience as a QA Engineer or related position in a collaborative, team-driven software engineering environment.

·         8+ years' experience in implementing automated solutions for both web and non web based applications.

·         3-5 years' experience managing the work of other team members.

·         Experience implementing test automation processes that includes planning, execution, and reporting

·         Experience maintaining test environments, automated testing tools, and other resources in support of SQA process

·         8+ years' experience managing the testing of large projects from Requirements through Implementation – especially the Quality Assurance Testing and User Acceptance Testing Phases

·         Familiarity with or aptitude to leverage testing tools

·         5+ years' experience with SQL

 

Technical Skills

·         Demonstrated proficiency in programming concepts and analysis

·         Demonstrated proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages with a preference in VB script,( i.e. Java, Javascript, Ruby, PHP)

·         Demonstrated proficiency in implementing automation solutions using various technologies (UFT, Selenium, Cucumber, Rational Functional Tester)

·         Familiarity with application architecture, i.e. N-tier

·         Ability to interpret design and requirement documents

·         Extensive experience with Microsoft Visual Basic, HP UFT and HP ALM (Quality Center)

·         Strong requirements analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

·         Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and data skills

·         Competent in the use of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Project, Word, and Excel

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Planning (Project Management, Business Analysis):

·         Participates in initial scope and planning of test strategy on each project with the assigned QA Lead

·         Finalizes automation test scope and provides automation script development tasks, resource plan, preparation and execution schedule to QA Lead

·         Develops specifications for QA automation development team based on the test scope defined by the test strategy

·         Provides value proposition of the overall effort

 

Preparation (Code Development):

·         Leads and/or assists QA automation members in automated script development

·         Validates automated scripts meet defined specifications

·         Configures scripts into test scenarios

·         Participates in applicable meetings regarding project build schedules and data needs

·         Produces and presents detailed script development status reports to QA Lead

·         Provides project status report to the QA lead as defined by the project.

 

Execution (QA Testing):

·         Performs or assists in the execution of the automation test scenarios

·         Researches test failures for validity, manages failed tests as defined by the automation process.

·         Produces and presents detailed testing status reports to QA Lead

·         Engages appropriate parties to escalate defects when needed

·         Makes daily operational decisions with regard to automation testing, defects, and risks on assigned projects

 

Resource Coordination:

·         Mentors QA Automation Analysts where relevant

·         Participates in interview process when needed

 

Tool and Test Environment Administrator:

·         Administers the defined automation tools (patches and upgrades)

·         Administers automation virtual machine test environments

·         Ensures that existing scripts for all applications developed continue to execute properly after patching and upgrades

·         Performs automation tool evaluations

 

Source Control:

·         Ensures that all virtual machines contain latest application scripts

·         Ensures that the latest application scripts are backed up
