Job Description:

·         Initially, this team developed a system called "Total Cost of Ownership". They built a Data Warehouse and created visualizations for data relating to the cost of maintaining, refurbishing, testing, and deploying Consumer Premises Equipment (Modems, Routers, Set Top Boxes…) 

·         Now the team builds metrics, KPIs, and analytics for the warehouse engineering and deployment teams. This data is used by supply chain and procurement teams to keep track of returns, repairs, testing, and staging. It functions to give a report card so that the business has actionable data.

·         This data comes from many sources. Some are internal while others come from external vendors.

·         The Data Analyst/Developer will work to homogenize this data so that it can be efficiently migrated to the Data Warehouse, analyzed, and visualized.

·         Most of the data is in Oracle.

·         The team currently uses Pentaho for ETL.

·         In the future, this team intends to leverage NoSQL databases.

 

Requirements:

• Aptitude for Data Analysis (Data Architect, Data Analyst)
• ETL/Data Integration Background. Specific ETL tool experience is not required, but Pentaho would be a plus.
• Proficient in SQL (e.g. Oracle/SQL Server/Teradata)
• Linux Scripting Knowledge- Shell, Perl, Bash…
• Domain knowledge is strongly desired:
• Broadband/CableTV
• Manufacturing Engineering
• Telecom
• Consumer Electronics
• NoSQL/Big Data (Hadoop, Cassandra, Mongo) is a plus
