Location:  Jersey City, NJ 

Duration:  6+ Months

Our client in Jersey City, NJ has an immediate need for a Senior Java Developer.

Onsite interviews are required. 

 

Job Description, Required Skills, Education, Experience:

The Software Developer will perform complex software design tasks and will provide thought leadership on the design, installation and maintenance of complex systems/projects. This role will serve as an SME on a particular system or application and will be required to gain complete understanding of business requirements and communicate them to development teams. This role will mentor and lead Jr. Level developers while ensuring development practices are in line with company best practices and policies.

 

Responsibilities:

• Performs product design and troubleshooting exercises of extremely high complexity which require extensive research and analysis
• Will be responsible for making complex design choices to be used by the Leads system design and specification development, development teams program logic and flow-charting, testing, debugging, and documentation.
• Leads moderate to highly complex programming tasks, providing review of various development tasks and documentation. Provides analysis of problems and recommends solutions
• Is a key contributor in client/technology interactions in the development of technology solutions. Will interface with Enterprise Architecture & Infrastructure teams on strategic designs and initiatives
• Leads the troubleshooting of complex problems in both development and production environments, ensuring timely resolution of issues
• Responsible for the development and documentation of best practices for his/her area of expertise

 

Requirements:

• 6-8+ years of Java / J2EE programming experience. Experience with Java 7 and Java 8 language constructs and features.
• Recent experience with developing web services (SOAP/REST), XML integration, XML–SOAP, and/or Web Services/SOA Solutions.
• Application development and UI frameworks (Spring (WS), Hibernate, JSF, Struts, JDBC, JMS, Ajax, experience.
• Experience with database software Oracle and MS SQLServer. Familiarity in writing SQL procedures to extract, migrate and load the data across systems.
• Participate in the Infrastructure design as part of the application build. Ability to work with Infrastructure team in building various application and database servers as per the needs of the application software. 
• Ability to coordinate changes across Storage, Network, Database and Clients.
• Experience with periodic maintenance, debugs and provide fixes for applications & integration related software. 
• Perform the management, configuration and testing of software.
• Implements software changes and patches, working with software vendors and contractors, as required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Full knowledge of common software design patterns (Gang of Four)
• 7+ years' experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design
• 7+ years' experience with distributed systems development
• Financial services/brokerage experience preferred
• Ability to interpret business requirements
• Experience with Unix/Linux, Windows
• Demonstrated experience working with core business logic within applications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements listed  

 

Experience level:  AT LEAST 7+ YEARS IN THE DOMAIN !!!
