Title: Data scientist - urgent opportunity
Location: Omaha, NE
Contract to hire/ Full time
End client: UPRR
Role:
1) Work as a data analyst mining the data and look for patterns to identify a problem and seek solutions.
2) Work with application developers to extract data relevant for analysis
3) Work with data modeling standards, data mining and data analysis methodologies.
4) Working with business intelligence tools for visualization
Technical Skills:
1) Minimum 5 years IT experience with 3+ years of experience in data analysis based on big data solutions using Hadoop technology ecosystem
2) Working experience with batch and real-time data processing
3) Thorough knowledge of Excel, RDBMS databases to NoSQL databases
4) Required - Working experience with high volume heterogeneous data, preferably with distributed systems such as Hadoop
5) Required -Strong knowledge in one or more of data base technologies Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server,
6) Working experience with Hadoop ecosystem technologies such as Hive, Pig, Spark.
7) Programming experience in multiple languages like Python, Java
8) Exposure to Data loading tools like Flume, Sqoop
9) Experience in using Tableau for visualization
Soft Skills:
1) Understanding, Plan and Develop big data analytics projects based on business requirements.
2) Proven ability to work in a startup-like environment with little supervision
3) Enduring curiosity about data
4) Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
