Title-Sr. FIRMWARE ENGINEERING
Job Description:
Directs the activities related to the analysis, design, programming, debugging, troubleshooting, and modification of software for firmware (IC embedded code) applications.
• Oversees programming activities involving analog and digital hardware and software operating systems.
• May have responsibility for the programming of assembly language, machine language and high level languages, including but not limited to C and C++.
• Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Requirements:
• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 5 or more years of development experience.
• Knowledge and practical experience with in-house embedded hardware designs.
• Experience working with real time embedded firmware (real time "C") including design, implementation, debug, and validation.
• Familiar with structured programming techniques.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Experience using code development skills (emulators, analyzers, version control, compilers/linkers, code review).
Desired Skills:
• MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 5 or more years of development experience.
• Knowledge of data storage systems.
• HDD or SSD interface experience (SAS, SATA, NVMe).
• Software performance analysis and optimization.
• Bug Tracking Software (JIRA preferred).
• Protocol Analyzers (SAS, SATA preferred).
• May have responsibility for the programming of assembly language, machine language and high level languages, including but not limited to C and C++.
