| MOI :: Telephonic followed by face to face USC or GC Job Description: Qualifications: Sr. Database Engineer for Markets Database Engineering group: Job Requirements :: * Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field or at least 5 years relevant work experience as Oracle Developer/Data Modeler * Solid understanding of Oracle 12c features * Strong exp in SQL Query optimization and performance tuning * Data modeling using ER Studio * Experience consolidating multiple databases * Expertise in OEM Grid Control ( 12c) * Expertise in RAC One Node and RAC * Expertise in Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) * Solid experience in performance tuning using OEM and Oracle performance views such as ASH tables. * Experience using Golden Gate to replicate / distribute data * Experience with different CDC patterns * Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and highly responsible in maintaining time critical projects schedule * Effective verbal and written skills, including good presentation skills Desirables: * Big data and Web Services tools - Hadoop, Json, RESTful, SOAP * Experience using Oracle Grid Provisioning tool * Experience with Oracle cloud control * Experience with multi-terabyte environments and familiarity with best practices of data archiving and purging * Experience in integrating Oracle Authentication with MS Active Directory * Understanding of financial instruments and other market data Responsibilities: * Upgrade databases to Oracle 12c and consolidate multiple databases into multi-tenant database containers. * Evaluate and implement latest database technology and new Oracle12c features * Help develop an architecture to consolidate multiple databases * Develop patterns to integrate data using golden gate * Perform analysis and design for the processes and procedures used for managing large or complex database environments to ensure their availability, integrity, security and recoverability; * Monitor and tune of database environments to ensure optimum performance and maximization of available resources; * Provide technical expertise to application development teams and interface with the industry vendors for technical support as needed * Develop, test and handoff to DBAs design documents, policies, procedures * Collaborate with the application developers, architects and project team on physical database design and implementations * Provide assistance with the investigations and resolution of complex technical issues and/or problems related to the support and use of database software and environments Prepare high quality documentation of design/architecture/database infrastructure documents; * Assist in ad hoc projects, assignments and responsibilities as necessary. * Perform occasional Technical Project Manager tasks for Data Warehouse project. |
