Enterprise Java Developer – Senior:
Client is seeking Senior Enterprise JAVA Application Developer candidates for a growing government client located in Ft. Collins, CO.
About The Job:
As a Senior Enterprise Java Developer, you will help lead the development of the back-end business logic, domain model, SOA infrastructure, and web service APIs on an exciting, clean-slate enterprise web app project, in an Agile environment. No legacy code here! You'll be working on an upbeat, talented, fun team with a cutting edge JEE and OSS based technology stack and latest frameworks at your disposal, owning areas of the design and implementation on a green-field, long-term and highly visible new application project. Your input will highly influence the design. Nothing outdated or boring here! Work / life balance is the norm, and we're based in a great part of the country. In a Senior role, you will work closely with the other Developers, Architects, Data Modelers, BAs, and QA to assist in investigation, design and planning, as well as provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers as a Java EE SME. You have both breadth and depth of JEE knowledge and experience applying that knowledge in writing quality code to build enterprise web applications, combined with a strong ability to synthesize, communicate and whiteboard with ease about these topics. You recognize from experience not only where elegant patterns can be introduced in code and optimizations can be made within the app container and to the distributed SOA environment, but understand and can communicate why, and help lead the implementation of such designs by example.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Desired Experience:
· Bachelor's or advanced degree, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering disciplines.
· 10+ years OO Development, with a strong focus on Enterprise Java applications; 4+ years with SOA / Web Services (SOAP, REST, MQ) experience;
· 2+ years with Agile development / Scrum
· 2+ years in a technical leadership role;
Skills:
· Strong Java EE 6+ back-end application development (EJBs / Spring, CDI, JAX-WS, JPA, Hibernate ORM, etc.)
· Depth and breadth of knowledge in Enterprise Java / EJBs, and modern decoupled SOA principles and patterns;
· Strong Unit (JUnit, Mockito) and Integration (Arquillian) testing skills with an emphasis on high quality code in an Agile TDD / Continuous Integration environment;
· Understanding of and ability to explain and resolve back-end design topics that arise during implementation and deployment of a Java Enterprise application
· Enterprise Java application containers (Weblogiv 10.3.6 a strong plus.) -Tuning exp. a plus;
· Strong technical leadership and mentoring skills;
· Excellent technical communication skills;
· EJB 3 (Session Beans, MDBs), JPA, JTA, JMS;
· Enterprise middleware (JBoss suite optimal), including JMS MOM / publish-subscribe bus (AMQ), Fuse, CXF;
· Strong RESTful and SOAP (WSDL) Web Services skills; Jackson, JAX-B, JSON, XML;
· Strong UML skills and proficient with technical design and documentation tools;
· Maven, Git (or similar), Agile workflows;
· Familiarity with Swagger for REST API documentation
· Experience working with ArcGIS and geospatial data
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
· Relational Database knowledge / ORM experience a plus;
· BRMS / Rules Engine experience a strong plus (BRMS, Drools);
· Familiarity with the following (plus): IntelliJ or Eclipse, SoapUI, Bamboo / Jenkins, Docker, Clover, Jira (or similar), Jython
· Linux (RHEL, etc.)
