Designation: Sr. Developer / Lead - Hadoop
Location: Cupertino, CA, USA
Interview will be Skype and Face to face 

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

Ø  Partner with technical leads and managers on project needs

Ø  Work with functional team/ Frameworks team to understand requirements and translate them to technical specifications

Ø  Perform PoC's. Use his or her extensive experience to demonstrate solutions, best practices etc

Ø  Perform analysis and design pertinent to the requirements and provide solution approaches

Ø  Collaborate with Business, PM, and other technology team

Ø  Serves as the conduit between the offshore and the onsite teams

Ø  Architect, Design, Develop Applications and/ Or Frameworks using Hadoop Frameworks

Ø  Perform Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing and implementation, Support activities.

Ø  Perform Unit and Integration Testing Activities  

Ø  Develop and maintain project documentation including technical specification, unit test plans, presentations, user documentations and training materials

Required Skills:

 

Ø  Master level experience with large scale Hadoop environments build and support including design, configuration, installation, capacity planning, capacity management, and performance tuning/monitoring/alerting/self-healing

Ø  Hands-on experience with the overall Hadoop eco-system (Cascade, Pig/Hive, HDFS, Map Reduce, Zookeeper, Hbase etc

Ø  Knowledge and experience with parallel ETL tools

Ø  Experience developing large-scale system software. Participated in the entire product life cycle: design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance.

Ø  Strong development experience in Java and Linux environment, Scripting languages etc

Ø  Tech Skills include –Hadoop Stack (Cascade, Pig/Hive, HDFS, Map Reduce, Zookeeper, Hbase, Java, Unix etc

Ø  Excellent SQL Skills

Ø  Experience in working directly with technology team

Ø  Should be very Analytical with ability understand and interpret the business data

Ø  Strong oral and written communication including ability to create Keynote/PowerPoint presentations 

Ø  Team player (very important) and be able to work independently with little supervision.

Ø  Experience in working with onsite-offshore teams
