Duties include but not limited to the following:
The incumbent will be responsible for advance level of technical Support in an enterprise ServiceGuard Clustered HP-UX environment that supports Oracle Data Bases using ASM, Oracle enterprise manager and other applications for a number of state agencies.
Work with customer application groups on application software installation, configuration, troubleshoot, performance analysis, and hardware recommendation.
The incumbent will function as a single point of contact between the customer, other support teams, and vendors.
Provide on-call, third-level support for OFT HP server environment.
1. Installation, configuration, tune, audit, patch HP-UX operating systems 11.00 - 11.31 using HP partition and hp virtualization technology on HP Itanium ia64 Superdomes, rx2660, pa-risc rp8420, rp5450, rp7400 servers.
2. Configuration, performance analysis, tune, and troubleshoot HP-UX servers utilizing HP native MPIO, Logical Volume Manager, Oracle ASM with a large Enterprise-Class Storage Area Network including Database Business copy replication using ibm's flashcopy. SAN storage consists of IBM SVC, 8000 series, XIV storage systems and EMC NAS NS480 and VNX storage systems utilizing nfs and/iscsi.
3. Installation, configuration, tune and troubleshoot HP ServiceGuard Cluster software for server failover on High-Availability applications.
4. Installation, configuration and support of HP Remote Support Pack (RSP) and Ignite UX for crash recovery and system images
5. Application/Middleware Intergration for HP-UX for either customer application software working with customer support staff or common off the shelf software. This includes preforming performance analysis, and hardware recommendation. (ex: cognos, oracle database 9, 10, 11, Oracle Enterprise Manager 10 & 11, Apache, Tivoli Storage Manager(TSM), Tivoli monitoring, Tivoli Workload Scheduler)
6. OS network-related administration tasks, including configuration, and troubleshooting of network interfaces, static routes, nic teaming (auto port aggregation), dns, nfs, ntp, ssh, ssl, sendmail and snmp.
7. In-depth knowledge of networks: IP (both TCP and UDP), subnetting, routing, vlans, firewalls to assist with troubleshooting server/application communications on a secure multi-tiered network using OS or 3rd party tools (ex: wireshark, netstat, lanscan, and lanadmin).
8. Technical Lead on IT Projects and/or worked with other groups as part of project team. Familiar with tools like MS project, visio, excel, and word to produce technical documentation including dataflow diagrams.
9. Familiar with Perl, Bourne and Korn shell scripting in support of system tasks.
10. Familiar with other OS's ex. Solaris 9 & 10, Red Hat enterprise Linux 5 & 6 and IBM AIX 5.3 & 6.1 is a plus.
