Role: Warehouse Data Analyst
Location: Denver, CO
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Data Warehouse Data Analyst will be in a key role for shaping the strategy of the Business Intelligence needs of Dish Network by ensuring Data Warehouse efforts are in line with the strategic objectives of the company. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive business relationships throughout the business community and IT, consistently demonstrating a thorough understanding of the customer's business, their processes, and their priorities. You will meet with a broad range of users to capture their decision support requirements.
The DA is responsible for ensuring that the final data warehouse implementation will meet the user expectations.
Primary Responsibilities fall into the following categories:
• Providing functional support for the existing data warehouse.
• Driving the design, build, test, production and post-production phases of Data Warehouse efforts.
• Partnering with the user community to identify their business requirements, produce functional specifications and design documents, and assist with the implementation of those specifications.
• Guiding business teams in defining, quantifying, and measuring Return on Investment (ROI) for their project initiatives.
• Analyzing existing business processes, identifying areas for process improvement, and guiding the business in the establishment of effective and efficient business practices.
• Providing functional and technical support to business and IT customers, for existing and future IT data warehouse and business intelligence systems.
Skills - Experience and Requirements:
A successful Data Warehouse Data Analyst will have the following:
A minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience working on data warehouse projects involving multiple subject areas with Teradata and/or Netezza knowledge a plus.A minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience and knowledge of data analysis, use case creation, SQL, and business intelligence reporting tools.
Strong inter-personal skills, written and verbal communication, facilitation, conflict resolution skills, superior communication skills with a focus on providing customer service excellence to all clients.Proven ability to present complex material in understandable terms to a wide audience base.Intermediate to Advanced skills in the following: MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio.Bachelors degree (B.A.) and five years of related experience; or five to eight years of related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
