Immediate challenge to deliver a product visible to the highest levels in the organization Chance to help shape a team; it's working practices, mode of delivery and ultimate success Opportunity to rapidly progress into a leadership position for the right candidate Key responsibilities Delivery of software on time and on budget, based on original scope & requirements Designing software and producing scalable and resilient technical designs Creating Automated Unit Tests using Flexible/Open Source Frameworks using a Test Driven Development approach Robust delivery of code into the production environment Ensuring the repository infrastructure is functioning operationally Skills: Relevant university degree, specialized training or equivalent work experience Passion for application development Experience working with high level programming languages. One of: Java (preferred), C#, Python, Ruby Exposure to one of: 1. REST and http based protocols 2. Spring 3. Automated Unit Testing 4. Competence with Agile Development approach. For example, scrum, lean (Kanban) A background in at least one of the following : 1. Strong analytical and problem solving skills 2. Object oriented software engineering Experience in some of technologies would be useful, however not essential : Cloud based services, Streaming APIs, Maven, Unix shell scripting, RDF/SPARQL To be successful in this role you will be able to display the following: Attention to detail Tenacity to succeed Proactively look to develop and influence the values of the development team Ability to interpret requirements arriving from multiple stakeholders
