WEBSPHERE SUPPORT ADMINISTRATOR

 

About the Job

The role is to provide technical support for WebSphere Administration and support for Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) product environments.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

·         Installation, integration, administration and maintenance the WebSphere software.

·         Installation, integration, administration and maintenance of the JBoss Enterprise Application Server (EAS) and JBoss Portal application server environments

·         Monitoring, analysis and tuning of the clusters or instances for performance

·         Provide advice, guidance, and assistance to the customer as needed.

·         Monitoring, analysis and tuning of the application

·         Monitor Incident and Service Request queue and perform work per requirements.

·         Design solutions based on customer requirements.

Additional duties may include

·         Install, configure, and maintain Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) software.

·         Web Application Servers:  WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat, JBoss, Apache.

·         Content Management: Oracle WebCenter Content, Drupal, Alfresco

·         Portal:  WebSphere Portal

·         Business Intelligence: Oracle EPM, Oracle OBIEE, IBM Cognos

·         Search Tools: Google Search Appliance

·         Social Media Tools: IBM Lotus Connections

·         Other: IBM Tivoli Usage and Account Manager, BMC Remedy, HP LoadRunner

Desirable skills:

Required Knowledge and Experience:

·         Recenthands-on experience with WebSphere software.

·         Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows systems and processes.

·         Experience with scripting tools like Bash, PowerShell, or Python.

Following Knowledge and Experience is a plus:

·         Experience with similar commercial COTS software. Examples of COTS packages currently supported:

o   Web Application Servers: WebLogic, Tomcat, JBoss, Apache

o   Content Management: Oracle WebCenter Content, Drupal, Alfresco

o   Portal:  WebSphere Portal

o   Business Intelligence: Oracle EPM, Oracle OBIEE, IBM Cognos

o   Search Tools: Google Search Appliance

o   Social Media Tools: IBM Lotus Connections

o   Other: IBM Tivoli Usage and Account Manager, BMC Remedy, HP LoadRunner.
