Job Description: The person will be responsible for performing the storage validation of the servers that will be used in a Lab setting before rolling it out in production. The storage systems are not branded, but the servers are running a plain Linux OS and the storage will be standard storage drives that will be mounted on the server. There may be up to 100 drives per server and up to 1 PB of storage per server. The person will be responsible for making sure that the drives install properly on the servers, with the right set of drivers. The person will run some pre-defined test cases on the servers to ensure that a disruption (either through drive failure or hot swapping) in a small set of drives does not bring down the
server through kernel panic or IO errors.
Skills needed:
Experience around 5-7 years
Experience and understanding of storage technologies and concepts.
Experience with any Storage systems like NetApp, EMC, HDS is a plus.
Experience and familiarity with Linux OS
Experience working with Onsite / Offshore model is needed
