Title: Ruby on Rails Developer

Location: Broomfield, CO

Duration: 6+ Months

 

Top 5-10 Responsibilities for this Position:
- Develop enterprise scale-able, test driven consumer web applications
- Collaborate with the team on building and following coding standards, application architecture design and decision-making
- Develop and test for cross-browser and device compatibility
- Translate complex business and industry requirements into executable code
- Ability and desire to thrive in an Agile environment, including pair programming
- Stay current on emerging technologies, standards, browser features, etc

Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong Object Oriented (OO) design and Model/View/Controller (MVC) implementation expertise
- Proficiency with Ruby on Rails (2+ years)
- Strong software engineering skills including writing and consuming REST based APIs (2+ years)
- Experience writing unit and functional tests using RSpec, Capybara, Cucumber, Jasmine, etc. (2+ years)
- Experience working with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) (2+ years)
- Experience branching and merging with version control system; preferably Git
- Proficiency with HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and JQuery
- Proficiency with Angular.js, Backbone.js, or similar JavaScript framework (1+ years)
- Strong communication skills with a focus on giving/receiving constructive feedback

Optional (but desirable) Skills and Experience:
- Experience with agile development methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban, etc)
- Experience building an application(s) in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Experience with continuous integration tools (Jenkins) and deployment to multiple server environments
- Working knowledge of Linux and Apache/Nginx
- Experience working NoSQL/Document/Graph databases (MongoDB, Hadoop or similar)
- Healthcare industry experience
