Job Description:

JOB INFORMATION
Design and enhance a Client developed internal application to ensure optimal performance in production environment, automate existing manual process, and add new notification and reporting capabilities. Modify existing code to bring in baseline functionality and then add new features. Work with UI designer to enhance look and feel of UI.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
Create and maintain a high level specification, design document that defines the methods and tools to be employed for the assigned project and accurately scope the required use cases and other project parameters for assigned tasks, maintain timelines, work closely with internal and external teams.
Strong ability to understand and represent high level technical capabilities
Ability to develop an easy to use front end GUI for customers to pull canned and ADHOC reports.
Optimize existing performance issues to create a simplified and robust GUI
Modify current UI pages to have an appealing look and feel and maintain uniformity
Ability to write test cases and test suites using JUnit to support existing and new features
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Minimum 7 to 10 years of design and development experience
Very strong Java, JSP, Struts, Hibernate, Spring, WebLogic, JUnit, Unix/Shell, scripting experience required
Strong programming experience with SQL, Joins, PL/SQL, and Oracle databases
Ability to upgrade application to use latest Java version and also migrate from WebLogic 9.x to 10.x
Experience with converting java class files to java modules to upgrade existing system
Demonstrate an ability to automate current manual processes using JSP, Struts, and Spring.
Comfortable using Hibernate and caching mechanism to optimize web performance
Basic knowledge of web vulnerabilities including SQL injection, Cross site scripting, etc.
Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Excellent written and verbal skills; ability to communicate effectively and concisely
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
