Skills Required:

Cognos BI development

Configuration meets customer functional and non-functional requirements

SQL database management

Cognos CDM skills

8+ years of experience

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Client requirement: US Citizen and Green Card candidates, only

                               Candidates submitted must be able to pass a Criminal Background investigation

Position: QA Analyst with POS

Location: Cincinnati OH
Duration: 12 months

Need visa copy.

Position Description:

The tester supports quality assurance programs and processes in alignment with QA strategy on the Point of Sale Applications Team.  

The tester is responsible for providing feedback on artifacts developed during requirements and analysis phase within client projects; authoring test cases; and performing test execution for both project and support related activities.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Work within various test methodologies
2. Create QA Task List in order to meet objectives and deadlines
3. Participate in Requirement & Design Doc review session; evaluate requirements & design docs from a quality test automation standpoint
4. Execute Test scripts to validation correct functionality of application
5. Manage test coverage based on risk analysis
6. Use SQL for back-end database validation
7. Document defects and evaluate priority of defect based on overall application functionality
8. Coordinate Test script Reviews with stakeholders are being held as appropriate.
9. Perform various types of testing including white box, integration, back-end DB validation, system testing as needed
10. Adhere to requirement review, defect writing & test script writing guidelines
11. Keep Lead Tester informed of current state of quality and test progress
12. Ensure completion of all deliverables within schedule, budget and quality constraints.
13. Participate in Root Cause Analysis sessions
14. Ensure that projects follow prescribed software development life cycle standards.
15. Develop and maintain good relationships with project team.
16. Identify obstacles and roadblocks; and offer suggestions to work around obstacle.
17. Help drive and improve QA process within the team you are assigned

Position/Project Specific Requirements:

·         5+ years of relevant experience in software quality assurance

·         3+ years of using Quality Center/ALM for test case management

·         1+ of using Jira for defect tracking

·         2+ years of using T-SQL or PL/SQL for database validation

·         1+ years of working in an Agile/Scrum methodology

·         Strong experience testing system integrations/end-to-end scenarios

Position/Project Specific Preferences/Desires:

·         Experience with Point of Sale testing strongly encouraged

·         Experience with IBM 4690 strongly encouraged

·         Experience testing software with handheld scanners, scales, or point-of-sale systems (strongly preferred)

·         Experience as a QA Lead or performing QA Lead responsibilities

·         Experience with writing/executing automated test scripts using QTP or Selenium (desired but not necessary)

Other general requirements

·         Understand and utilize risk based testing techniques

·         Understand and differentiate the various types of testing (unit, smoke, functional, integration, system, user acceptance, regression, performance, and usability testing)

·         Effectively analyze requirements to create usable test cases

·         Conduct root cause analysis on system issues

·         Document defects with clear information and steps to recreate

·         Accurately estimate work assignments

·         Manage and seek prioritization for tasks to meet project deadlines

·         Multi-task to meet assignment deadlines

·         Show assertiveness

·         Demonstrate excellent team work and collaboration skills

·         Effectively communicate to management and business partners

·         Have obtained a bachelor's degree in Information Systems or have related and equivalent work experience
