Keys for Hire
§ Must have experience with Web Services. Must be able to articulate what a web service is and how to test it. (SOAP UI is often a tool used for testing Web Services, but they needs more than that, the candidate needs to know more than just how to use SOAP UI)
§ 90% manual testing/10% automated testing
§ All the applications they are testing are server applications with no UI.
§ Candidates must understand how to test applications with no UI
§ Needs folks who understand XML, SQL and objects
§ Programming experience is appreciated but not required (looking for someone who has an understanding of programming concepts)
Qualifications
- A BS degree in Computer Science or related engineering field required.
- 6+ years experience in software quality assurance required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills are required.
- Experience with using automated test frameworks.
- Solid UNIX/Linux experience a plus.
- Hands on experience with Grey Box and Black Box testing required.
- Hands on experience with relational database concepts and SQL queries.
- Experience testing Web Services (SOAP and REST protocols) and server applications without a UI required.
- Knowledge of popular and current, television programs, movies, sports, and celebrities.
§ Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing requirements and schedules
Software Test Engineer
Ø Client is seeking an experienced Software QA Engineer with strong problems solving and critical thinking skills to help our team. This is a position for a self-starter who has strong organizational and technical skills, and an ability to formulate test strategies and plans for complex and challenging projects with limited direction.
Key Responsibilities
Ø Work with Software developers to ensure the application meets technical requirements and customer expectations.
Ø Create manual and automated test cases from requirement documentation.
Ø Execute manual and automated test cases.
Ø Create software defect reports in the defect tracking system.
Ø Organize and prioritize testing tasks as needed to meet project timelines.
