As a SharePoint Systems Administrator II, your specific responsibilities will include:
Participate in new SharePoint projects as a project team member supporting development efforts, QA activities, and deploying final project deliverables to production.
Create web applications and SSP's with direction from the SharePoint Developers.
Monitor and resolve user requests and problem reports as a second tier helpdesk for installed SharePoint portals.
Perform ongoing maintenance of web front end and indexing servers. Maintenance of any features, web parts, templates, solutions or third party installs.
Ongoing research to determine SharePoint best practice for stability and maintenance. Define and manage SharePoint Search functionality.
Setup and configuration of SharePoint services on server. Setup and maintenance of Outgoing and Incoming mail services.
Set up and configure Excel Services and Infopath Services in adherence to governance and licensing procedures and restrictions.
Implement and maintain search services, define search scope in conjunction with Knowledge Managers.
Setup and maintain user profile properties for MySites.
Create command scripts (e. g. PowerShell) with assistance from level III personnel.
Allocate and increase space on web applications, site collections and MySites. Notify business when thresholds are being reached.
Manage charge out model for space usage. Plan for and allocate applicable space to second stage Recycle Bin.
Implement, and document SharePoint governance and change control procedures. Activities include maintaining proper production and testing environments, defining and following best practice change control procedures, and documentation of disaster recovery procedures for all SharePoint farms.
Ensure admin/management tool is installed and maintained on the platform for reporting purposes.
Supply reporting on a daily/weekly/monthly/on-demand basis to business and the Helpdesk. Allow Site Collection administrators read only access to extract these reports once set up.
Creation of site collections and their databases and services if required. Employ SQL Server 2005/2008 failover clustering to ensure high availability.
Perform regular drive defragmentation. Manage file sizes and disk space. Clean up log files when required.
Balance loads to grow the databases as necessary (without impeding performance). Move databases without data loss and with minimal downtime.
Monitor SQL Server storage requirements. Manually associate databases with a web application, merge existing databases, or split existing databases as required. Monitor, maintain, and manage SharePoint SQL Server database storage.
Restore sites and data as required. Ensure backups are kept for mirroring, archival and restore purposes.
Install service packs, hotfixes, updates and patches during off-peak time as required. Manage and perform upgrades to licensing when required.
Define, implement, and manage system security including account management and installation of service packs and security patches. Ensure anti-virus is kept current and run regular scans to monitor.
Manage URLs to be included and excluded from Search results. Manage lockdown mode to restrict access to anonymous users.
Qualifications:
4+ years SharePoint infrastructure experience, including 2+ years working with SharePoint 2010. Knowledge of SharePoint 2013 desirable.
Microsoft certifications in relevant SharePoint related technologies a plus.
Experience administering SharePoint installations in a Cloud Computing environment (e.g. Amazon Web Services) a plus.
STSADM command line.
PowerShell programming.
SharePoint Central Admin.
Microsoft IIS.
Intermediate level working knowledge of Windows Server, DNS, and Active Directory.
Hands-on working knowledge of SQL Server 2008 and 2012.
