Role: Sr. VMware Administrator
Location: Cary NC
Duration: 6+months
Primary Skills : VMware, Windows Server, ESX, Vcenter, VCP Certification, Virtaulization.
Job Description:
Responsible for technical, pricing and transformation solution end to end for the Infrastructure based towers (Wintel, Server Consolidation, Migration etc.)
Should have a very Strong understanding of the transformation trends in the industry.
Ability to consult individually on the Transformation areas (Wintel Infrastructure) in Large Deals
Participate in meetings to understand customer requirements, Due Diligence and Proposal presentation sessions
Prepare BOM as necessary for the technical solutions designed.
Contribute as necessary to internal and customer presentations, RFPs, and contractual Statements of Work.
Create, validate / review solutions and effort estimates for data center transformation opportunities (Wintel, Virtualization and Servers) across the globe.
Ability to assess the current IT environment and be able to provide appropriate technical solutions to address business challenges related to data center optimization
Work with alliance partners like Microsoft, VMware, DELL, IBM and HP to create solution for customers.
Design of IT Infrastructure solutions based on requirements from the business making use of existing IT capabilities and services in the company.
Understand the business and application requirement and translate it into an Infrastructure solution.
Create whitepapers on emerging technologies that can be showcases to customers.
Work very closely with Presales to validate the final solution.
Act as a single point of contact for any Architecture related work based on Wintel, VMware & Compute Technologies.
The candidate should have worked independently in Architecture and Design projects such as virtualization, servers, Wintel technology etc.
The candidate should have a good understanding of sizing.
Level Domain Expert Technologies such as
• Windows
• Virtualization – VMware, Hyper-V,Xen Server ( Any 2 )
• Compute Blade servers- (HP, DELL, IBM, UCS) and Converge technology
Knowledge and Awareness Technologies such as
• AD/DNS/DHCP/VCS/MSCS
• Management tools , VC, SCVM,
• Migration & DR Tools (PlateSpin, DoubleTake)
• Symantec & Other Recovery Tools
• FlexPod, VBlock
• Storage & Networking from Wintel & VMware Perspective
