Job Title: Splunk - Systems Administrator
Location: Chevy Chase, Maryland
Duration: Long Term Contract
Required Skills/ years of experience needed
· 3 years of Splunk experience.
Skills
· Share responsibility for the administrative support of the Splunk product for installation, upgrades, configuration and maintenance.
· Participate in face-to-face customer meetings to determine monitoring and log consolidation needs.
· Be able perform installation of universal, heavy forwarders, indexers, deployment and license management servers.
· Perform data management including index administration, routing and data retention. Configure data inputs, file precedence, roles, users and authentication.
· Have good knowledge of Splunk troubleshooting, internal queues and processing.
· Create automated scripts to assist with installation and configuration of products, and schedule and verify automated installs and upgrades.
· Respond to user problem calls for supported products and share 24 x 7 on-call support.
· First-line contact for vendor problem resolution.
· Add and maintain team and product documentation.
· Perform product verification after outages and releases.
