Ø The IT Analyst works with stakeholders to define and document business process and software requirements for technology initiatives, including online products and business information systems. Ø Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, source code analysis, requirements workshops, observing system behavior, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis. Ø Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs. Ø Deliver Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document) and Use Cases Ø Work independently with Product Management team to define concepts. Ø Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. Ø Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts. Ø Serves as the conduit between the Product Management team and the software development team through which requirements flow. Ø Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field & experience Ø 7+ years prior experience required as a IT Business Analyst / Systems Analyst Ø Have a demonstrated acumen for working at a very technical level. Ø Experience with Relational database technologies. Able to create or read SQL Ø Strong knowledge of programming languages and tools such as Java, XML, SQL, etc (Required) Ø Can read Java source code and create functional requirements Ø Proficient with common web browsers. Ø Experience with reading XML Ø Experience with use cases and activity diagrams Ø Strong research and technical analysis skills; including the ability to effectively review, analyze, translate and document business needs into technical and user requirements; possess knowledge and understanding of business systems development/design and full life cycle application development process. Ø Strong decision making skills including solid knowledge and experience with data flow process/procedures/systems Ø Solid knowledge and understanding of project planning/project leadership. Strong organization skills including effectively handling multiple assignments and leading multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously and prioritizing work effectively. Ø Strong self motivation, business acumen, customer service, consulting and interpersonal/ relationship development skills. Ø Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time (Required) Ø Ability to function within ambiguity and help bring clarity and/or resolution to complex situations/issues.
