Description: 

DBA Team within RFS is responsible for:

• Supporting new business initiatives and projects
• Ensuring housekeeping and monitoring of all database systems
• Provide 24x7 production support
• Processing Enterprise Change Management business requests for various database activities.

 

Seeking to recruit an individual experienced in SQL Server. The ideal candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of SQL Server. Oracle/Sybase experience is a plus. Our team installs, maintains and administers mission-critical, leading-edge Oracle, SQL Server Sybase, MYSQL and Progress databases. The DBA Team within Retail is responsible for supporting new business initiatives and projects, ensuring housekeeping and monitoring of all database systems, providing 24x7 production support and processing Enterprise Change Management business requests for various database activities.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for SQL Database development and support.
• Provide input into overall development/implementation plan and document database builds and changes, perform SQL designs, table designs, and stored procedures work.
• Ability to architect, design and configure large, complex databases with replication and high-availability on the most current MSSQL versions.
• Translate logical to physical design, develops comprehensive DB architecture, implementation and upgrade plans and assists in definition of database standards, policies, and procedures.
• Lead data requirements, architecture review, and modeling sessions. 
• Primary contact for projects within the team, interfacing with project managers, application development staff and executive management.
• 5 years of technology management in the Financial Services.
• Experience with capital market and Mortgage business is compulsory.
• Project based infrastructure and Execute database software installation (SQL Server 2008 cluster), database creations/configurations and loads.
• Maintenance and support of SQL server Mirroring, Log shipping, Clustering, and other methods of disaster recovery.
• Responsible for data loading, security, capacity planning and backup and recovery.
• Solid skills in database performance fine tuning and optimizing poorly performing queries, stored procedures.
• Day-to-day 24x7 production operations (incident break/fix, change, service requests, vulnerability management).
• Production patch/upgrade management.
• On-Call pager rotation.
• Customer support & communications.
• Providing first-class database support and administration;

 

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience with a Relational Database Administration in a production environment.
• Experience with Polyserve SQL server clusters with multiple nodes on each cluster mirroring and other methods of disaster recovery.
• Prior experience in a fast paced high tech environment.
• Performs data modeling, logical and physical database design. Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, monitoring of standards and procedures
• Knowledge of advance features of sql server 2008. 
• Migration of Microsoft SQL databases from one platform to another
• Solid experience with SQL server 2008 cluster installation and configuration.
• Experience with SSIS packages, SSRS and SSAS.
• Knowledge of SAN and Responsible for data loading, security, performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, and backup and recovery.
• Solid skills in database performance fine tuning and optimizing poorly performing queries, stored procedures.
• Bachelor's/Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent
