Mandatory Skills:
· Candidates must excel in commercial lines insurance rating system development and testing.
· Able to manually rate a commercial lines CPP policy and write technical specifications
· Specialty program and vendor development experience is a plus
Typical Experience
· Typically requires three to five years of relevant technical and business work experience. Knowledge of MS Office programs Excel and Word. Excellent relationship skills and a positive attitude. Ability to work independently, and within teams for certain aspects of the project.
· Requires /in-depth knowledge of business operations, requirements processing, business modeling concepts, information systems and project life-cycle knowledge, and business process development. Knowledge of Industry Business Analysis Best Practices preferred.
Job Description
· Business Analysts are expected to use their working understanding of information systems, business operations, and processes to analyze requirements, develop specifications, story-boarding and prototyping to facilitate the design of integrated solutions. Their knowledge of business analysis, business processes and project methodologies is applied to all of their assignments.
· Understands how to rate and issue Commercial Insurance (General Liability, Property, Inland Marine, Crime, Auto) policies using both manual and automated methods. Stays current with changing conformance in more complex compliance states, as well as procedural, system or workflow changes.
· Ability to work independently and leverages team resources when needed. Has an understanding of and an ability to apply knowledge of multiple technical business systems.
· Working with business partners to define needs to align with business priorities and assess impact on other business processes. Leading requirements gathering sessions to identify and articulate needs/requirements i.e. JAD sessions, story-boarding. Advising business partners on options, technical limitations, risks and cost vs. benefits and ensuring a structured requirements process for the business is adhered to.
· Acts as a resource to less experienced personnel in developing test plan strategy documents and executing test/use cases. Defining when to employ automation and determining impact. Identifies, recommends and may approve improvements when appropriate.
· Providing technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members. Accountable for providing technical guidance or business process expertise through all phases of the business solution development process.
· May be accountable for a portion of a project plan in collaboration with project manager from requirements phase through design, testing, implementation and maintenance.
