Location: Chicago, IL
Duration: 6 Months
NOTE: There would be a Face-Face interview after initial telephone interview.
Job Description:
· Programmer/Analyst with at least 5 years, preferably 10+ years, experience and a degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
· Candidates must possess strong skills in software design, coding, debugging/testing, and documentation.
· The role is part of global development team that designs, develops, tests and supports common/core technology interfaces, frameworks and applications.
· Developed products provide the technical foundation for electronic trading systems software developed for all regional financial market and commercial products supported by NYSE Euronext.
· Very strong analytical and technical abilities are required.
· Abilities working with internal customers/stakeholders to gather and analyze functional and non-functional requirements is preferred.
· Candidates must demonstrate strong proficiency in C/C++ language with a strong understanding of object oriented (OO) methodology.
· Excellent comprehension and experience working with network designs, TCP and UDP (Multicast) protocols, Inter-Process Communication (IPC) and multithreaded applications is required.
· Applicable experience and skills developing low level test tools, inter-process messaging infrastructure, data/message translation, interface design and system integration are all preferred.
· Top candidates shall have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and must work efficiently within a globally-distributed team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.
Required Experience/Skills:
· 5-10+ years experience with a degree in Computer Science or equivalent
· C/C++ development
· UNIX/Linux development environment
· Shell scripting
· Library and Framework Development
· Inter Process Communication (IPC), shared memory
· Network protocols (TCP, UDP Multicast)
· Multi-threaded application development (pthread library experience)
Preferred Experience/Skills:
· Python
· Perl
· Java
· SQL
· Requirements gathering/engineering/analysis
· Source/version control systems (Perforce is preferred)
· Documentation/technical writing abilities
· User Interface APIs and Tools (Qt/Qt Designer, Flex, HTML5, etc¿)
· Financial industry experience is a plus
