"Candidate must have strong DB2 DBA skills and also be strong in ACF2 security and the CA database tools"

 

Here are the generic specifications for the senior DBA job. We really need both DB2 and SQL skills with database design experience as well. This means a senior DBA with many years of experience. The person should be comfortable with expert level DBA skills.

 

The purpose of this position is to provide database support for the ONGARD Service Center. Implement and maintain DB2 and SQL Server databases, ensure database integrity and security of data, monitor and tune performance of applications, develop and maintain database designs and data dictionary, conduct capacity planning, create and maintain backup and recovery strategies, assist with disaster recovery planning, assist with developing procedures for keeping Development and Quality Assurance environments synchronized with productions, provide production support, assist with security rules and procedure improvements and recommend automation improvements for operational tasks that promote business continuity. Platforms and tools used: DB2, Cobol, JCL, CICS, IBM Utilities, CA-Unicenter database tools, MS SQL Server 2005 & 2008, Visual Studio, VB.Net and C#.Net, Utilize the full suite of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and MS Project) to prepare documentation and visual aids for support of systems development projects. Position will prepare weekly status reports for assigned activity
