ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with client(s) and project manager to determine requirements for applications to be developed and/or modified.
Draw upon validated requirements in order to design, implement, and maintain applications in coordination with other IT staff and clients.
Have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Have the ability to understand customer needs and effectively communicate plans and progress with the customer.
Possess the ability to work as part of a development team. Be able to take requirements and deliver a complete application solution with documentation. Have the ability to interpret user needs to produce products that improve on what the users envisions.
Be comfortable with all aspects of web development, such as writing queries and creating web-based interfaces to databases. Have the discipline to meet department standards while maintaining creativity.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field desired
4 year degree or equivalent work experience
4+ years developing web applications
1+ years' experience with Ruby on Rails
4+ years' experience with SQL databases
Understanding of web development and testing best practices
Understanding of relational database design
Strong working knowledge of Linux, MySQL, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical co-workers
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work on multiple projects and tight deadlines
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Working knowledge of XML, Text Mate, Terminal, CMS, ColdFusion
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
Working knowledge of Fireworks, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, etc.
Expertise in the latest technologies, and the ability to communicate the different technologies in layman's terms.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present in a group setting.
Professional self-starter, able to work collaboratively with others.
Project a professional image and strong business acumen during customer interactions.
Good knowledge of the member/organizational dynamics.
Possess a sense of urgency, strong organizational and follow up skills.
Must provide strong leadership including vision and promoting/leading change.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present to C-level and in a group setting.
Strong working knowledge of MS-Office and Internet.
Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent knowledge on how to source and network through traditional means, social media, internet and other mediums.
Excellent negotiating skills.
Excellent computer skills including database/spreadsheet skills, MS Office.
Detailed knowledge of employment laws related to interviewing and hiring.
Ability to work with a cross-functional team that includes all levels of the organization.
Ability to prioritize ever-changing priorities
Must be extremely organized and great follow up skills.
Ability to take direction from multiple people.
