Position: Sr. Network Engineer
Location: Watsonville, CA
Duration: 3+ Months Contract to Hire

Looking for a Sr. Cisco Network Engineer that will take ownership of their Networking and drive projects within this space. Identify performance issues and create a plan to resolve the issue. They want someone who has a very proactive way of thinking. The manager is really looking for this person to be strong technical and have good commskills. They are a Cisco shop (routers, switches, firewalls). This person will also oversee the day to day task, change request, vendor management. They also run Shoretel VOIP so if they have hands on experience with Shoretel, that would be most helpful.
Open to candidates willing to relocate at their own expense.
Job-related knowledge, skills and abilities:
· Minimum of 10 years experience with Cisco network equipment supporting enterprise environments. Previous Retail experience is a plus.
· Previous experience supporting VOIP environments (Cisco Call Manager/Call Manager Express and/or Shoretel)
· Understanding of POS applications and hardware preferred
· 3+ years experience developing and maintaining QOS configurations; performing network analysis and tuning
· 8+ years experience implementing and managing switching and routing protocols to support failover and high-availability. Hands-on experience with HSRP, GLBP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP and VRRP
· 5+ years experience with client and site to site vpn including DMVPN.
· Solid understanding of authentication methods and systems including Tac+, Radius, certificates, Cisco ACS, Active Directory and multi-factor authentication
· 5+ years experiencing with Wireless LAN environments including controller based systems, wireless intrusion detection/prevention and self-healing wireless technologies
· Previous experience using centralized device configuration management tools such as Network Configuration Manager, CiscoWorks, Prime or similar. Experience using network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, MRTG, WhatsUp or similar. Understanding and ability to interpert Netflow information and develop reports and statistics from network management tools.
· Proven background handling multiple technical assignments while maintaining high quality results.

· Bachelors Degree in MIS or equivalent work experience
· At least 7 years of Network Administration experience (Cisco, Juniper, etc)
· Technology skillset must include: IPSEC, SSL VPN, DMVPN, Wireless (802.11), DSL, T1,
· DS3, Trunking, Radius/TACACS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, HSRP, GLBP and Firewalls (Cisco, Palo)
· IT certifications a major plus: CCIE, CCNA, CISSP, CCNP
