Position : JAVA Architect
Location : Long Island City, NY
Duration : 6+ Months
Responsibilities:
- The JAVA/Micro Services Architect will interact closely with solution and platform architecture teams, product owners, and development teams to provide architecture and solution approach to business problems.
- Systems thinking - the ability to see how parts interact with the whole (big picture thinking)
- Ability to think strategically and develop an Implementation Plan
- Evaluate output from various teams of developers and lead them by example.
- Ability to quickly understand the interrelationships of systems in an enterprise and the impact of systems and applications upon the enterprise wide technical environment
- Contribute and ensure application architecture standards, policies and procedures are implemented and followed
- Responsible for translating complex functional and technical requirements into complete set of architectural views
- Strong understanding of micro service architectures, patterns, related frameworks and prior hands-on experience in developing and deploying MicroServices solutions
- Work with business user teams to discuss, recommend, explain, and reconcile desired functionality and technology capabilities
- Design solutions in order to ensure that applications are scalable and can support high volumes of traffic
QUALIFICATION:
- Should have a minimum of 10 years of enterprise experience including a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in Java, J2EE platform with mandatory experience in SOA/REST/APIs
- 3-5 years of designing and development of Microservices using SpringBoot , Netflix OSS
- Must be experienced in presenting and explaining the architectural views to clients at all levels from technical/IT staff to Board/Director
- Strong understanding of OOAD, UML models, design patterns and application development processes and practices
- Sound knowledge on SOA/API concepts with experience in design/development of RESTful APIs using JAX-RS, JSO
- Must have good experience using application frameworks such as spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JAX-RS, Camel
- Experience with event-based and message-driven distributed systems
- Experience in use of source code management system like SVN or GIT and build tools like Ant, Maven, Gradle or Make and using Ci/CD process like Jenkins and Github for builds and deployment
- Experience with technologies used for service registry like Zookeeper, Eureka preferred
- Experienced in Deployment on PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry)
- Experience in working with ESBs and API management tools
- Experience in working with Docker container / Kubernetes preferred
- Experience working in a collaborative agile environment
- Should be flexible to travel as necessary in the US and internationally
- Ability to convince the stakeholders with excellent interpersonal, verbal communications skills
