| Mode of Interview: Skype Job Description The DevOps Architect is a thought leader responsible for setting the technical vision for the "path to production" of our commerce and data analytics applications. In this role, your responsibility is to provide technical across all areas of the build, release and operations, to ensure delivery of technical solutions. You will be responsible for recommending and developing technical architectures, tools and processes that support the automation of environment management, build, testing, deployment and support processes. Leadership · Be the thought leader for DevOps for the commercial applications · Lead a continuous improvement process for DevOps, with individual roadmaps and focus points for the different products and development teams · Explain and educate on DevOps systems, processes and benefits to all levels of the organization · Identify opportunities to improve ITSM Key processes and Critical workflows · Identify and help develop business cases for tools that will enhance ITSM Key processes and Critical workflows
Architecture
· Collaborate with the architecture team and support teams to set the DevOps technical vision, target architecture, tools and processes across the heterogeneous integrated Java and .Net application environment · Lead the project to implement the DevOps technical vision · Contribute to and influence the wider commerce architecture to ensure the application and deployment architectures are aligned to and supported by the DevOps architecture, tools and process · Create and maintain accurate documentation of the DevOps architecture, tools and processes · Develop, mentor, train, and support the team of developers to build a culture of DevOps being everyone's responsibility · Work closely with the team to ensure they are effectively and efficiently integrating DevOps into commerce solutions
Development
· Rapidly prototype new ideas and concepts · Estimate the duration of design and development tasks · Take a technical and development leadership role on projects with a significant impact on the architectures, or DevOps tools and processes Qualifications · Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience · Mastery of DevOps tools and processes including source management, build, dependency management, packaging, artifact repositories, and deployment (e.g. GIT, Jenkins, TFS, Octopus Deploy, Chef, Puppet, Nexus, NuGet, Maven, msbuild, scripting languages) · Expert in implementing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) environments · Experience in DevOps in a private cloud, public cloud, or hybrid cloud environment · Experience in DevOps supporting both Java and .Net applications. Experience in a heterogeneous technology environment with integration between Java and .Net applications preferred · Working knowledge of underlying operating systems, both Windows and Linux · Comfortable with information architecture principles. · Excellent team player with good communication skills with both non-technical & technical co-workers · 5+ years' experience leading DevOps initiatives · 5+ years' experience leading project teams and/or mentoring junior developers · 10+ years IT industry experience. · ITSM Experience with a focus in the following areas: · Configuration Management · Release and Deployment Management · Change Management · Service Level Management |
