Position:      Data Engineer

Location:     New Albany, OH

Reports to: Manager – Data Engineering for BI

As an engineer on the Data Science team, a data engineer is responsible for data profiling, analysis, extraction of data in the process of constructing data products. Our Data Science focus surrounds core retail areas including planning, merchandising, inventory management & supply chain business areas. This position will work closely with other Data Science team members to collect, model, analyze & build data products  using core data sets. 

Requirements

·         2+ years of full stack development experience

·         Experience with programming languages such as java, python, C++, etc

·         Strong knowledge of building and working with API's (REST, SOA, etc) and data feeds

·         Strong SQL expertise for data analysis & troubleshooting

·         Experience using OLTP & Analytics databases such as Oracle, Netezza, MySQL, etc

·         Experience with Big Data and NoSQL databases such as Hadoop, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc

·         Expertise in delivery processes such as Agile & Waterfall

·         Knowledge of development lifecycle tools such as JIRA, QC, Fogbugs, etc

Nice to Haves

·         Knowledge of analytical toolsets such as R, Python, SAS, SPSS, Matlab, etc

·         Knowledge of NLP, text analytics, social analytics

·         Knowledge of integration technologies such as RabbitMQ, MQSeries, Tibco, SOA Fusion, etc

Responsibilities

·         Build data extraction tools using various technologies to capture 3rd party data

·         Work with Data Scientists to build tools that allows users to interact with predictive models

·         Execute data mining activities providing insight from datasets

·         Build Hadoop jobs to transform data  into analytics datasets
