Role: Tools Engineer

Location: Framingham, MA

Duration: Long-term

 

Job Description

 

•          Instantiate and upgrade engineering applications through Development, Staging and Production Environments based of the application lifecycle plan defined by the Technical services and support team with initial application of JIRA.  

•           Execute monthly application validation to support OS patching/service pack updates.

•          On-going monitoring health of applications and systems hosting those applications.  

•          On-going monitoring and validating engineering application and database backups.  

•          On-going monitoring and validating of engineering licenses

•          Provide T1 and T2 engineering application support

•          Application User Account, application installation, application license issues, and application end user issues.  

•          Provide license management support

•          (install updated license files, manage license daemon, address license issues related to application

•          Technology  - Virtual & Physical Servers  health of environment , Software and Hardware

•          Operating Systems- Windows, Linux, VMware

•          DB systems -  MySQL, SQL Server

 

Skill requirements

 

•          Support experience on SDLC tools for issue management, req. management, release management etc. (preferably for tools under scope)

•          Tool implementation and administration (creating/deleting users, access control etc.)

•          Installations and upgrades, Patch support

•          Tool/Application validation and testing

•          Knowledge of tool infrastructure

•          Troubleshooting and technical support

•          Knowledge of automation and scripting languages like VB Script, Java Script etc.

•          Working knowledge of tool integrations (For example - JIRA with SVN, JIRA with JAMA etc)

•          Problem solving and analytical skills

•          Strong Linux administration skills

•          REST/JSON and/or PERL for automation

•          MySQL - since most of current tools use this at the backend
