Contract Job: Data Analyst in Sacramento, CA (6 to 12 months)

We have an URGENT 6 to 12 months contract job with our client for Data  Analyst in Sacramento, CA.

Candidates must have minimum 10 years experience and must be local to California.

 

Technical Skill Required

·         8+ years' experience in IT systems analysis

·         8+ years' writing IT requirements and document specifications

·         8+ years' experience developing test plans and testing software

·         Proficient in Microsoft Excel

·         Basic knowledge of SQL

 

Responsibilities:

·         Communicate effectively orally and in writing, and the ability to speak knowledgeable with members of both the business and development teams.

·         Read, develop, and interpret plans, functional specifications, and diagrams.

·         Expert-level knowledge on the following techniques: user story, use case, business process modeling notation, and data flow diagrams.

·         Assimilate into an agile work environment

 

Desirable Qualifications 

·         Experience working with software integration at another utility company or independent system operator.

·         BDD tools such as JBehave / Fitnesse.

 

Primary Task

·         Document functional requirements for submitting required data to comply with FERC Order 676-H. This order adopts the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB) Wholesale Electric Quadrant (WEQ) as they related to the Open Access Same-Time Information Systems (OASIS). The relevant portions of these standards for this project relate to the transmission services for Network Integration Transmission Service (NITS).

·         Provide analysis on modifications needed to current Excel based systems and PowerCosts Inc (PCI) software to meet FERC order 676-H requirements.

·         Engage with CLIENT staff from various departments to document process, create workflow diagrams, user stories, and data mapping.

·         Create test cases

 

Secondary Task

• Gather requirements from business to make minor enhancements/fixes to the settlements data repository system.
