Requires 8 years technically related experience

Candidate should expect occasional off hours scheduled work

The tasks and duties of this position are as follows:

 

1)Lync 2013 Server Integration 

Purpose: Support Lync Server 2013 infrastructure operations. Ensure interoperability between Lync, Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Office applications.

 Activities:

• Maintain the Lync 2013 infrastructure distributed architecture in all four Service Delivery Points (SDPs): NCC, SSC, Kansas City and San Francisco.
• Assist with the deployment and enhancement of Lync Server 2013 infrastructure.
• Modify and patch the software and hardware according to the Service Level Agreement as scheduled in order to maintain infrastructure operations and avoid system outages.
• Work with technical staff to maintain Lync Infrastructure Architecture Design Requirements:
• Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) uniform resource identifiers (URI) match user Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) and Email address format.
• SIP trunks terminating in at least 4 central sites.
• IM traffic will be encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS), Kerberos authentication
• Microsoft Enterprise Certificate Authority (CA) for internal Public Key Infrastructure (PKI); Approved vendor for external PKI.
• High availability within a site for IM, presence, conferencing and voice workloads.
• Site resiliency between sites for IM, presence, conferencing and voice workloads.
• Use of a Lync Server 2013 approved hardware load balancer for Edge pools, Director and Front End.
• Quality of service (QoS) on all internal routers.
• DNS split-brain (split horizon) configured for internal and external SIP namespaces.
• Maintain and support the Microsoft Lync Server 2013 Client. Work with technical staff to support clients from previous releases and the current release.
• Document problems and resolutions. Problem and resolution documentation should be filed in EMSB repository for future reference

2) Maintain the Lync 2013 Infrastructure and Implement Enhancements

Purpose: Ensure that the infrastructure is operational and provides services as architected.

To assist in the implementation of Lync Server 2013 infrastructure planned enhancements to supplement these services

Activities:

• Ensure the Lync 2013 Infrastructure is available and providing online meeting, large meeting, instant message, presence indicator, federated online meeting attendees, audio/video, and Instant Message Gateway services.
• Schedule server maintenance and software downloads during the maintenance window.
• Manage all phases of changes and updates that apply to the Lync 2013 Infrastructure.
• Document CAPRS problems and resolutions and produce a bi-weekly report containing information describing tickets worked on, tickets resolved, tickets remaining open and impediments to ticket resolution.
• Support the network staff with client installation and configuration of monitoring software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues when alerted by monitoring software.
• Attend related meetings as requested by task manager.
• Evaluate infrastructure performance and future requirements.
• Enhancement: Work with the Lync Infrastructure technical staff to implement Persistent Chat feature in the NCC and SSC Lync 2013 infrastructure during 2015.
• Enhancement: Work with the Lync Infrastructure technical staff to implement the pilot of the Flexible Video Project in 2015.
• Migration: Work with the Lync Infrastructure technical staff to implement the planned migration of NCC infrastructure to the new National Support Center.
• Assisting with infrastructure/functional testing, user pool moves and other activities will be required.
• Migration planning and procedure development are outside the scope of this task.
• Enhancement: Work with the Lync Infrastructure technical staff to implement the Lync 2013 Archiving feature in the NCC, SSC, SF and KC Lync 2013 infrastructures during 2016. 

 Must have:

• Windows Server 2012 Standard
• Microsoft SQL 2012
• VMware vSphere 5.5 with Operations Management
• Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R1 or R2
• Lync 2013 and/or 2010

Helpful to have:

• Active Directory
• Network Load Balancers
• System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
• System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
