This person will be helping a swamped Network Security Engineer, working with firewall, Next Generation Firewalls, UTM and really looking for Fortinet, Palo Alto is ok if no Fortinet exp. This is NOT a Jr. level position, they need to have at least 5 years of security experience at large corporations
Responsibilities:
5+ years' experience in information technology.
Recent direct experience working within an information security function as a network security/firewall specialist.
- Direct experience managing one or more of the following:
Firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, CheckPoint, or other)
Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) / Intrusion Prevention
Systems (IPS)
Web Content Filtering Solution
VPN
Preferred Qualifications:*
- Bachelor's Degree
CISSP certification
- Experience in the following areas:
Multi-factor authentication solutions
Data Leak Prevention (DLP) solutions
Vulnerability management solutions and security information and Event Management solutions.
experience working in an organization that provided exposure across multiple IT functional areas (i.e., infrastructure, networking, security, data management, and application development).
Analyzes, troubleshoots, and corrects network problems related to network security, including firewall policy, firewall interfaces and routing.
Performs analysis of network security needs; contributes to design, integration, and installation of hardware / software.
Is familiar with Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW) / Unified Threat Management (UTM) solution.
Works as liaison between Security and Network teams to ensure collaboration between the organizations.
Evaluate security tools and potentials vendors, makes recommendations on technologies and implementation/support partners.
Modifies and maintains network security standards, and reviews existing security controls to ensure compliance.
Implements and maintains remote connectivity solutions including IPSec VPN and SSL VPN.
Monitors security system logs (i.e., intrusion detection system, firewall system logs, etc.) and reports on discovered anomalies or problems (i.e. insufficient disk space, inappropriate access patterns, etc.).
Assists with network security assessments for potential business partners.
Keeps fully abreast of trends and changing technologies related to network engineering and information security fields.
Conducts violation / vulnerability report review; coordinates IT risk mitigation.
Investigates IT security violations, known vulnerabilities, and data breaches.
Performs vulnerability assessments; conducts compliance activities in response to internal and external audits.
Performs security research & vendor evaluations at the direction of the ITRM Security Architect; assists with testing and
implementation of security solutions related to network security. Maintains / enforces security policies and standards.
Acts as interface with and liaison to business and IT application owners; ensures applications, infrastructure components, and access are appropriately assessed.
Assists IT Security Architect with IT security reviews and signoffs for new systems development projects.
Executes security incident response procedures in accordance with threat levels.
Monitors the schedules for upgrading, repairing, modifying, or replacing IT security systems, devices, and applications; monitors e-commerce-related processes and equipment.
Communicates effectively (both written and verbal). Learns new tools and technologies quickly. Manages multiple priorities and follows a project plan to meet project deliverables.
