This position will work with business stakeholders to understand, document and formulate business requirements into technical plans. The senior web developer supports several applications including ecommerce sites, internal web sites and applications, internally developed and supported web and NT services. This individual must possess a solid understanding of web technologies, web architecture along with the ability to deliver production quality work at a rapid pace. The selected candidate will be working in a small, but growing IT shop where their flexibility, willingness to wear many hats and ability to mentor less senior developers will be required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develops application fixes in a complex, real-time environment. Identifies what the issue is and determines the best solution to achieve resolution. Work with multiple departments within the organization to understand, develop and implement new applications as required
Establishes and sustains a high level of partnership with the Business. Instills a level of confidence in technical knowledge, in order to suggest and deliver solutions to business opportunities
Defines site objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality. Researches new requirements to understand and present technical options, scope, and risk
Completes application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms
Provides technical leadership by helping to establish best practices, recommend design patterns, and identify opportunities to refactor code, oversee project execution and mentor team members
Provide end-user production support for in-house developed as well as purchased software including after-hours support scheduled on a rotating basis with other developers
Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Must possess the ability to effectively communicate using strong verbal, written and listening skills
Work effectively with other team members in design, development and implementation
Strong troubleshooting skills, being able to break down and understand complex issues when they arise
Experience building rich web-based interfaces with JavaScript/HTML/Microsoft C#, VB.NET and ASP.NET
Familiarity with delivering software design and development projects using Java/J2EE technologies
Experience with data exchange formats such XML, JSON
Experience with high-availability Internet applications
Familiar with web security, DNS, and SSL, Akamai, f5
Familiar with cross browser and device OS development
Familiar with iOS or Android development a plus
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
At least 6+ years of development experience, ecommerce experience must
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
