Position:  DB2 LUW DBA (AIX and Linux platforms)

Location : midtown Atlanta , GA

Duration: 12+ Months

Interview Mode: Phone / Skype

 

They'll do a skype on this, Looking for operations DBA.  DB2 on AIX and Linux platforms, Tivoli Storage Manager for backups.

 

Job Responsibilities

·         Creation and upgrade of DB2 LUW Database Instances 

·         Creation of databases and execution of DDL to create database objects like tables, indexes, stored procedures, views, user defined functions

·         Perform database monitoring, problem determination, problem resolution

·         Responsible for creating and maintaining backups and recovery procedures and processes

·         Responsible for designing, implementing and testing Disaster Recovery procedures and processes

·         Ensure that Computer Security Policies, General IT and SOX Controls are followed

·         Ensure compliance with naming standards 

·         Participate as a team member in projects that require outages, upgrades and patches to databases

·         Produce documentation and procedures regarding the proper use and operation of the DBMS

·         Capacity Planning

• Coordinate the resolution of DBMS problems that require DBMS vendor intervention

·         Available to handle 24 x 7 on call duties on a rotating basis

 

Job Requirement

• 4+ years working as DB2 LUW DBA 
• Physical Database Design and Implementation Experience
• Experience with DBMS Performance and Database Tuning
• DDL, DML, SQL
• AIX
• Tivoli Storage Manager
• Good Oral and Written Communication Skills
• Ability to work with team members

 

Preferred:

*        Professional Certifications for DB2 V10

*        Experience with other database management systems
