| Server & Storage Technology Architect will lead architecture and strategy for server, storage, converged infrastructure, and compute appliances for the client. This will include assessment of current capabilities and design of future state architecture that will meet the need of growing need for high performing and flexible compute environment including high-compute grid and cloud computing. The architect will act as technical steward for technology roadmap for server and storage domain and will execute the roadmap with partnership with the infrastructure Global Product Owner (GPO). They should have a depth of technical experience in compute technologies including server hardware platforms, OS, virtualization technologies, converged infrastructure, and cloud computing.
Job Duties/Responsibilities: The following responsibilities related to server and storage technology platforms: · Create and maintain strategy, standards and roadmaps · Steward of Product Lifecycle · Lead proof of concepts certification, vendor and product selection certification initiatives · Perform the technical architecture assessments, as needed, for complex solutions · Provide guidance and oversight to Technical leads in Infrastructure operations organization · Responsible for aligning technology strategic roadmap to the business strategic plan · Create and maintain technology architecture blueprints ("stack and style") for accelerating solution design for projects · Research key industry trends and architecture concepts for leverage in strategic solutions · Improve velocity and lower ongoing operating costs by managing requests for new applications and technology, leveraging deployment of existing strategic solutions.
Required Skills: · Computer-related four year College or University Degree. · At least ten years of progressive IT experience in infrastructure administration and architecture. · Technical Experience: IBM Power Series, vBlock, Intel, or similar platform. · Various operating systems and virtualization technologies, including Linux, Windows, AIX, VMWare and Citrix. · Experience with NetApp, IBM and EMC storage and data protection platforms. · Architecture: Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture Principles and Designs · Experience building technology strategy, roadmaps, standards |
