The Sr. SQA Engineer should feel comfortable with not only testing the application from an end user perspective, but to be able to navigate through the directories to access log files and change configurations.
1. Have you tested applications in a LINUX environment? Were they browser based? Did you test applications on the back-end?
2. Are you proficient in:
a. Starting/stopping LINUX jobs?
b. Navigating directories to view log and data files?
c. Editing files to configure the application? Can you give an example of having done that?
3. Are you comfortable with virtual machines (VMs), VMWARE in particular?
a. Do you know how to install LINUX applications and modify environment variables?
