Responsibilities

1. Design and implement highly scalable, interactive web applications with high usability

2. Design and implement backend application interfaces for data and services

3. Collaborate with business analysts to define software requirements for programming effort

4. Support production software operations, test and debug programs

5. Report progress and status of assigned tasks to project teams and managers

6. Provide technical leadership and motivation to junior developers

 

SKILLS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline; MS is a plus

Experience in Java development - J2EE, server side Java, JDBC, JMS etc.

Expert in JavaScript development

Experience with Node.JS, REST and JSON – most important

Strong understanding of object oriented design and MVC patterns

Experience with distributed search and indexing systems like Solr / Elastic Search / Lucene

Experience with Unix/Linux

Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores, preferably MongoDB

Experience with open source software

Excellent understanding of web security practices

Good understanding of agile development and continuous integration
