Job description:  

Position Summary:

Works directly with the VP of Unified Communications and Mobility, telecom engineers, network engineers, and other departments to assist with setting the strategic direction for voice, video infrastructure, and unified communications infrastructure.   

• Plan, design, build, and implement new additions or changes to the Avaya voice and Cisco video infrastructure.
• Provide third level support for infrastructure elements and make recommendations to management on short term and long term objectives. 
• Provide maintenance, moves, adds, changes, deletions, upgrades, and performance monitoring, while providing functional guidance and direction to LPL for strategic and tactical initiatives.
• Provide capacity planning and engineering to forecast growth and order associated services.
• Provides training and support to telecom staff on best practices and procedures. 
• Maintains all voice and video infrastructure and ensures all systems are performing essential services for a service delivery of 99.999% uptime. 
• Create and maintain documentation for all aspects of the Avaya and Cisco solutions.
• Manages relationships with key telecom and network vendors while identifying all costs associated with the deployment and installation of systems.
• Interfaces directly with business and vendor partners to manage schedules, coordinate orders for voice services, video services, and implements hardware and/or software applications.

Essential Functions: (List in order of importance and estimate the percentage of time spent.  It is recommended to provide a minimum of three items but no more than five.  Amount must total 100%.)

1.  Preventative system monitoring (Health checks): 10 %

2.  System Engineering: 40 %

3.  Projects: 35 %

4.  Task Assignment: 10 %

5.  Executive/Video Conference Support: 5 %
