Network & Infra Architect

Location: South Brunswick, NJ

Duration: 6 months(Contract to hire)

 

Job Description:

 

The role of AWS Architect is to focus on delivering highly available, scalable enterprise solutions on Amazon Web Services platform.

 

Key Activities:

 

• Architect, Design and build systems in cloud using AWS
• Perform analysis on existing applications and systems to determine suitability to migrate to the cloud
• Understand customer business needs, conduct technical discussions and document business requirements
• Lead the design and implementation of AWS solutions
• Lead client-facing technical activities to ensure required business value is delivered
• Provide technical oversight, review and quality control of technical artifacts throughout the project
• Contribute to the development of AWS standards, best practices and organizational capability
• Act as an escalation point, supporting engineering teams for AWS technical issues and decisions.
• Optimize cloud deployments

 

Technical Requirements:

• 10+ years' experience in consulting, designing and implementing distributed / scalable solutions
• Experience architecting and deploying multi-tiered applications using Java, J2EE, .NET or C#, Oracle, MySQL
• Strong Hands-on experience with VPC, EC2, S3, ELB, Route53, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS.
• Good Amazon RDS / Redshift / Data warehouse experience
• Strong knowledge on software development methodologies like Agile/Scrum, Kan Ban etc. Broad understanding of enterprise project lifecycle
• Experience building and deploying multi-tier, scalable, and highly available applications using Java, Microsoft and Database technologies
• Experience using database technologies like Oracle, MySQL is required and understanding of NoSQL, MongoDB is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science
• Networking (TCP/IP,DNS,  VPN, Routing, Proxies, Reverse Proxies) knowledge is preferred.
• DevOps knowledge – Chef or Puppet required.

 

Desirable Skills:

• Amazon Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional Level
• Extensive automation experience with either Chef or Puppet
• Experience in designing or implementing data warehouse solutions is highly preferred.
