JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a hands-on Java web developer who can communicate and articulate programming fundamentals clearly and concisely. Candidates should expect to be coding 100% of their time on this project, and the position is likely to be on-site. We will consider non-Java developers who have strong fundamental programming knowledge in any other OOP language but who are also comfortable with transitioning into Java. Clear communication is key to win favor with this client. As a web developer we expect you to demonstrate knowledge in all tiers of web architecture including the front-end, middle-tier, and backend systems. Candidates can expect to spend approximately 30% of their time on the front-end, 60% on the middle-ware, and 10% in the backend.
Front End (30%)
1. JavaScript
2. Familiarity with at least one JavaScript Framework (e.g. AngularJS, jQuery, EXT.js).
3. CSS / HTML

Middle Ware (60%)
5. Java Servlets
6. EJB
7. JBOSS
8. Spring Framework
9. Struts Framework

Candidates should demonstrate sound programming fundamentals—interview questions include:
1. Object Oriented Programming Principals
2. Data Structures
3. Algorithms / Sorting
4. Web Concepts (HTTP, TCP/IP, UDP etc).
5. Language specific questions
About the project: There will be two major phases of this project. Candidates will be expected to code JavaScript, HTML, CSS within JSP pages to remove an IE6 dependency as part of phase 1. Phase 2 will begin to upgrade and update the middleware J2EE platform tech-refresh. The web application itself accounts for 40% of the revenues for the client so it's a high availability, and revenue critical application that requires certain level of care to execute.
